Granny Pushed to Ground in Shocking Bag Snatch Attempt

Police were called at 10:15am on March 7 after a man tried to steal a 75-year-old woman’s handbag in broad daylight. The victim was heading home along Pembroke Road, having just got off the number 17 bus, when she was attacked from behind.

The thug shoved her to the floor, leaving her with facial injuries. He then fled empty-handed. Witnesses describe the suspect as tall with dark hair.

Police Hunt Man Caught on Bus Before Attack

Detective Constable Jade Mason of Lancashire Police urged anyone who got off the number 17 bus around 9:50am near the Fairhaven Pub on Marine Road to come forward.

“We want to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the attack,” said DC Mason. “If you have CCTV or dash cam footage from Clifton Drive to Windsor Road, please get in touch.”
