Security Van Driver Attacked in Bold Cash Robbery Attempt
Two men launched a brazen attack on a security van driver outside a BP garage on Mansfield Road, Woodthorpe, at around 2.40pm today (4 November).
The pair tried to snatch a cash box from the driver but failed. They then fled the scene in a black car that had dropped them off moments earlier.
Police Nab Suspects After Quick Chase
Officers swiftly identified the getaway vehicle and stopped it in Staffordshire. Three men inside were arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery.
Detectives Hunt Key Witness to Crack Case
“This was a serious incident and our investigation remains at an early stage,” said Detective Constable Agnes Wakenhut of Nottinghamshire Police.
“CCTV footage shows a key witness close to the offenders during the attack. We urgently need to hear from her, and anyone else who saw what happened.”
