Crawley Stabbing Horror: Police Plead for Witnesses
One week after a fatal stabbing shook Crawley, police are still hunting for witnesses. The victim, an 18-year-old local lad, was viciously attacked near Crawley railway station on the afternoon of Monday, 20 February in Malthouse Road.
Five Teens Arrested but Free on Bail
In a swift response, police arrested five teenagers linked to the deadly stabbing. They’ve been released on strict bail conditions as the investigation barrels on.
- 18-year-old man from Crawley – suspected murder, bailed until 30 March
- 17-year-old boy from Worthing – suspected murder & knife possession, bailed until 22 May
- 18-year-old woman from Crawley – suspected of assisting offender, bailed until 16 May
- 18-year-old man from Crawley – suspected murder, bailed until 16 May
- 19-year-old woman from Crawley – suspected of assisting offender, bailed until 17 May
Chief Inspector Issues Urgent Call for Info
“We’re not looking for anyone else but we need all evidence to get justice for the victim and his family. Did you see suspicious activity? Have you got footage on your phone or dash cam? Any info helps,” says Chief Inspector Ben Starns of Crawley Neighbourhood Police Team.
“Knife crime is a top priority. This tragedy reminds us knives destroy lives. Carrying a knife puts you and others in danger. We work with families and young people to educate and stop offenders before it’s too late.”
