Teen Girl Shot at Moss Side Party
Late Friday night, just before 10.30pm, police rushed to Quinney Crescent in Moss Side after reports of a shooting. A 16-year-old girl was found injured outside a house where a party was taking place.
The teenager was hit by a single gunshot wound but is in stable condition with minor injuries. She was taken to hospital and is now recovering. Officers are supporting her and her family through this ordeal.
Passing Car Opens Fire on Party Crowd
Longsight CID detectives revealed that a passing vehicle fired a single shot at the group outside the party. Thankfully, the girl was not believed to be the intended target. Police are now investigating why the shooting happened.
No arrests have been made so far.
Manchester Police Launch Full Investigation
“Incidents like this are always reckless and risk lives being lost. My thoughts are with the victim, whose injuries are thankfully minor,” said Chief Superintendent Robert Cousen, commander of Manchester City division. “We’re working around the clock to find those responsible and bring them to justice.”
Officers conducted extensive searches around Quinney Crescent overnight and continue to investigate. They are also appealing to partygoers and the local community for information.
