Man Attempts to Approach Girl in Hunslet – Police on Alert

Suspicious Encounter Near Sandon Mount

At around 8.40am last Friday, a man approached an 11-year-old girl near the junction of Sandon Mount and Sandon View in Hunslet. The quick-thinking girl ran off and raised the alarm with nearby adults, while the suspect fled the scene in a black car.

Police Description and Appeal

The man is described as having mixed hair colour and a black beard. Detective Inspector Mark Tester of Leeds District Safeguarding Unit said: “We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this incident and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed it or saw a man matching this description in the area.”

Increased Police Patrols Reassure Locals

Detective Inspector Tester added: “We understand this will cause concern in the community. Our neighbourhood policing team is increasing patrols to reassure residents.”

False Alarm in Seacroft

Police also investigated a similar report in Seacroft on the same morning but have confirmed it was a false alarm.
