Teen Arrested After Violent Train Brawl in Coleraine
Chaos erupted on a train from Portrush to Coleraine on the evening of Sunday, March 31, when officers arrested a 17-year-old boy following a violent assault. The incident unfolded shortly after 9pm, prompting a swift police response upon the train’s arrival at Coleraine Station.
Attack on Train Leaves Man Seriously Injured
Police were alerted just before 9.20pm about an assault on the train. Several passengers had been removed from the carriage after a heated altercation. During the disturbance, an object was hurled, seriously injuring a man in his 30s. The victim suffered head injuries and needed hospital treatment.
Charges Include Assault, Offensive Weapon, and Disorderly Conduct
The teenager caught up in the incident faces multiple charges, including assault occasioning actual bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, and disorderly behaviour. Police are continuing their investigation with a reference number 1630 31/03/24.
