Brutal Attack Rocks Portsmouth Car Park – Man in Serious Condition
Violent Assault in Red Lion Car Park
Chaos erupted just before 6pm last night in the Red Lion car park on London Road, Portsmouth. A 27-year-old local man was viciously attacked, sustaining serious chest and abdomen injuries.
Victims Rushed to Hospital
The injured victim was rushed to Southampton General Hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition. A second man, aged 39 from Portsmouth, suffered minor cuts and bruises to his back and face. He was treated and remains stable at QA Hospital.
Arrest Made – Police Hunt Witnesses
Police were alerted at 5:43pm following reports of the bloody assault. Officers detained a 34-year-old Portsmouth man on suspicion of attempted murder. He is currently in custody.
Portsmouth North Inspector Jon Tilbury said: “We appreciate that members of the public will be concerned by this incident. However, all parties involved are known to each other, and this was not a random attack. We’ll be patrolling the area today, so please approach us if you have any questions or concerns.”
