Boy, 8, Seriously Hurt After Hit by Van in Slough – Driver Flees Scene

Just before 5.30pm yesterday, a white Ford Transit van struck an eight-year-old boy in Thirkleby Close, Slough. The driver briefly got out, handed the injured child to a nearby adult, then sped off, leaving the boy seriously hurt.

Serious Injuries But No Life Threat

Emergency services rushed to the scene. The boy suffered serious leg injuries and was rushed to John Radcliffe Hospital. Thankfully, his condition, while serious, is not believed to be life-threatening.

Police Hunt Witnesses and Van Driver

Officer PC Faye Aspinall of the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing is appealing for witnesses. She said:

“I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the van in the area shortly before the crash. We’re continuing our investigation and need anyone with info to come forward.”

Increased Patrols and Community Concern

Officers are stepping up patrols after the incident shook the local community, especially those who saw the accident. PC Aspinall added:
