Needles Found in Supermarket Food in Fulham

Police swooped at around 7.40pm after a man was reported shouting abuse on the streets of Fulham Palace Road, SW6. The suspect allegedly injected multiple food items with needles across three local supermarkets.

  • Sainsbury’s Local, 179-183 Fulham Palace Road
  • 1 Express, 168-188 Fulham Palace Road

The man has been arrested and taken into custody on suspicion of contaminating goods with intent to cause public harm or anxiety.

Food Safety Concerns and Investigation Underway

The supermarkets remain closed, with crime scenes established at each location. Contaminated items appear to be processed meats and microwaveable products. Authorities are still assessing the scale of the contamination and whether other nearby businesses are affected.

The Local Authority Environmental Health team is now collaborating with the stores to handle the fallout.

Public Warned to Dispose of Suspect Food

As a precaution, shoppers are urged to throw away any food purchased from these supermarkets on the evening of the incident.
