James Bond Gun Heist Shocks Enfield
Police raced to Aldersbrook Avenue, Enfield, at 8pm on Monday 23 March 2020, following a burglary in progress. But the suspects had already fled. Disturbed by neighbours, they escaped after smashing a window, fleeing in a silver car.
Five Iconic James Bond Guns Stolen
The thieves broke in through the rear and swiped five genuine deactivated firearms used in famous James Bond films. The stolen weapons include:
- Beretta ‘Cheetah’ Auto Pistol, Serial H02641Y – Star of Die Another Day
- Walther PPK, Serial 146872 – Featured in A View to a Kill
- Smith & Weston 44 Magnum Revolver, Serial N60304 – From Live & Let Die
- Beretta ‘Tomcat’ Auto Pistol, Serial DAA264306 – Seen in Die Another Day, complete with laser and silencer
- Llama .22 calibre Pistol, Serial 271915 – Also from Die Another Day
Villains Description and Clues
Witnesses described the culprits as three white men with Eastern European accents, dressed in dark clothes and masks. Police released CCTV showing a silver 1 Miverna vehicle lurking before the heist, its occupant even flashing a camera in a suspicious, Bond-style stakeout.
One weapon—the yellow-handled Llama pistol—was found rusted in a field near a railway station in Essex last April. Sadly, exposure to the elements has wrecked its condition.
Police Call for Help
Detective Inspector Paul Ridley, North Area CID: “It’s been a year now with just one gun recovered, badly damaged. These firearms are unique and iconic – any sighting or attempt to sell them should ring alarm bells.”
“The owner is heartbroken. These guns were meant for a national exhibition and have huge sentimental value. The Chrome-covered Magnum is one-of-a-kind, with a six and a half inch barrel and wood grips. The Walther PPK was Roger Moore’s last weapon in A View to a Kill, famous from the Eiffel Tower parachute scene.”
“If you saw anything, know where the guns are, or were offered them for sale, please contact North Area CID on 101, quoting CAD 5890/23MAR20.”
For the sake of Bond fans everywhere, let’s bring these legendary guns back where they belong.
