Manhunt On for Suspect in Fatal Linton Attack
Detectives have released an image of 49-year-old Paul Robson, wanted in connection with a brutal assault in Linton on Sunday evening.
Terrifying Night Ends in Tragedy
At around 8:55pm, emergency services were called to a disturbance at a Foxcover address. They found a 47-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy violently attacked. The woman, identified as Caroline Kayll, was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries but, sadly, died.
The teenage boy suffered serious but non-life-threatening wounds and has since been discharged. He is not related to Caroline or the suspect.
Suspect on the Run – Police Focus Search on Glasgow
Paul Robson, from Wallsend and known to Caroline, remains at large. He is described as white, about 5ft 5in, slim, bald, and wears glasses. Police believe he has fled to Glasgow, where search efforts are concentrated.
A 58-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and remains in custody.
Police Plea: Help Find Paul Robson
“This has been a complex investigation that has seen officers carrying out enquiries across the region this week,” said Superintendent Paul Milner.
“I want to reassure you this is an isolated incident and Paul Robson is not considered a danger to the wider public.”
“We urge anyone with information to come forward immediately. Please don’t speculate as it could hinder our inquiry at this difficult time for the victim’s family and the injured teenage boy.”
