Police swooped on a man in Underwood today after fears for safety sparked a serious response on Main Road. The drama unfolded at around 4.20pm on Monday 6 February 2023.
Man Arrested Over Offensive Weapon
A 38-year-old man was arrested on the spot, suspected of possessing an offensive weapon. Cops acted fast to protect both the man and his neighbours from any harm.
Road Closed and Residents Evacuated
Inspector Usha Madaraa from Nottinghamshire Police said: “The road was closed during the incident, and a small number of residents were evacuated to a community centre as a precaution.”
She added, “They have now returned home, and I’d like to thank them for their patience and understanding while we carried out our work to resolve the incident safely.”
Investigation Continues – Police Ask for Info
The man remains in custody as police continue their investigation. Anyone with information is urged to call 101, quoting incident number 541 from 6 February 2023.
