Newborn Baby Found Dead in Weston-super-Mare Garden
Police were called at 8:50am this Saturday after a member of the public discovered the body of a newborn boy in a private garden in Victoria Quadrant, Weston-super-Mare.
Urgent Search Underway for Baby’s Mother
Detective Chief Inspector Mike Buck described the scene as “very sad and distressing.” He urged the community to help find the baby’s mother, saying:
“We’re extremely concerned for her welfare and need to trace her as soon as possible. We’re treating the baby’s death as unexplained at this time.”
DCI Buck made a pointed appeal to locals:
“Have you noticed someone who might be heavily pregnant but reluctant to say so? Perhaps she has links to Victoria Quadrant or her behaviour changed in the last 24 hours? Please come forward – you can stay anonymous.”

Amanda Braund from North Somerset Children’s Services added a direct message to the mother:
“We want to help you. We have specially trained professionals ready to provide support and medical care. Please contact the police by calling 999 or head to your nearest hospital.”
