Officers swiftly intervened, imposing a Section 34 dispersal order to break up the party. Following an evidence review, the party organiser was hit with a fixed penalty notice for flagrantly ignoring the health regulations.

Police warned others tempted to throw illegal house parties, especially as Halloween nears. “We will keep enforcing the rules to stop the virus spreading,” said neighbourhood officers. “Most people are playing by the rules – but those who don’t will face fines.”
