Masked Thug Punches Staff in Armed Robbery at Shanklin Shop
Hampshire Police have released CCTV shots as they hunt a brazen armed robber who attacked staff at the Welcome Store on Arthurs Hill, Shanklin. The shocking incident happened just after 10.20pm on February 17.
Shocking CCTV Reveals Masked Attacker
The footage shows a man strolling into the Co-Operative Welcome Store wearing a striped balaclava. He’s armed with a metal pole. Without warning, he storms up to a staff member and punches them in the face before demanding cash from the tills.
Victim Hospitalised After Brutal Assault
Another worker handed over the money, and the attacker fled the scene, heading towards the 1 path. The assaulted shop assistant was taken to hospital with a suspected broken nose but has since been discharged.
Police Seek Public’s Help to Identify Armed Robber
The suspect is described as white, wearing a striped balaclava, dark jacket, dark trousers, white trainers, and dark gloves. Anyone who recognises this man or spotted him in the area on the night is urged to come forward.
