Hero cops save man’s life with CPR on Kingston street
On Thursday around 5pm, police raced to Castle Street, Kingston, after reports of a seriously injured man. Officers arrived within 30 seconds to find a 40-year-old lying unconscious and not breathing.
Life-or-death chest compressions
Two officers sprang into action. One pumped chest compressions while the other delivered life-saving breaths through a face mask. For what felt like an eternity, they kept going – desperate for a sign of life.
Miracle moment after 120 compressions
Then, just as they hit the 120th compression, the man stirred and took a deep, gasping breath. Officers immediately put him in the recovery position and handed him over to paramedics who rushed him to Kingston Hospital A&E.
Discharged after incredible recovery
In a stunning turn, the man was recently discharged after making an amazing recovery. Police praised their own for quick thinking and expert first aid that proved the difference between life and death.
