Acid Attack Horror on South London Bus Sparks Major Police Probe

Shock Incident on Route 109

The Met Police have launched a full investigation after a chilling acid attack on a South London bus. Just before 7am on Thursday, the driver of the route 109 bus sounded the alarm after a passenger was sprayed in the face with a corrosive substance.

Emergency Services Rush to Scene Near Croydon Hospital

Fire crews, police, and paramedics scrambled to the scene yards from Croydon Hospital. The attack, now classified as a Hazmat Level Two incident, took place outside Boots the optician on London Road in Thornton Heath. Specialist fire engines and officers treated the victim at the location.

Victim Sprayed, Bag Stolen, Suspect Flees

“Officers were called at around 6.45am on Thursday, 30 April, to reports of a man injured on a bus travelling on London Road, South Norwood,” a Met Police spokesman said. “The victim was approached by another man who sprayed an unknown substance in his face before stealing his bag and fleeing the scene.”

The victim was rushed to hospital with injuries described as non life-threatening. Police continue to investigate but no arrests have been made so far.
