Driver Assaulted in Shocking Maidstone Road Rage Incident

A motorist was left shaken after an alleged assault by another driver near Maidstone. The drama unfolded around 9.10am on Wednesday, 4 December 2019, along Simmonds Lane, Otham.

Road Rage Erupts After Driver Pulls Over

The victim, a woman, pulled over to let a vehicle pass. The other driver, in a light blue car, stopped too. He got out, sparking a heated altercation with the woman, who also exited her car.

As the man drove off, he reportedly collided with the victim and her vehicle. The woman later needed medical treatment for minor injuries.

Police Hunt Suspected Ford Focus Driver

The suspect is described as:

  • White male, late 50s to early 60s
  • About 5ft 8in tall
  • Grey hair, wearing glasses
  • Wearing a blue top and tracksuit bottoms

Inspector Mark Hedges from Maidstone Community Safety Unit said: “The suspect was possibly driving a Ford Focus with a partial number plate similar to KY07.”

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dash Cam Footage

Investigators want anyone who saw the incident or the suspect’s vehicle in the Otham area to come forward. Drivers with dash cams who were in the village at the time are urged to check their footage.
