Police Hunt Suspected Arsonists After Car Blaze in Sevenoaks

Kent Police have launched an urgent appeal following a suspected arson attack in Sevenoaks. A car was set on fire while parked on Garth Road on the evening of Wednesday 14 October 2020.

Firefighters Tackle Blaze, Police Launch Investigation

Officers and fire crews rushed to the scene just after 9.10pm. They quickly extinguished the blaze, but this fire is the second suspicious incident reported in the same area.

Witnesses Spotted Two Men Running With Burning Clothes

Detective Constable Tony Hatcher of Tonbridge CID revealed crucial details:

“Our investigations show two men ran along Garth Road at the time of the fire. One appeared to have clothing on fire.”

He added:

“We’re appealing for anyone who has seen burnt clothing after the incident or anyone suffering unexplained burn injuries to come forward.”

Police Urge Locals and Drivers to Check Cameras for Clues

Officers are calling on anyone in the area between 7pm and 10pm on 14 October to report suspicious behaviour. Motorists are asked to check dashcams. Residents should review CCTV and doorbell footage for any leads.
