Kent Police Lock Down Maidstone Studio in Brexit Showdown
Nearly 100 officers from Kent Police swarmed the Maidstone TV studio on Friday night (6th December 2019), creating a massive human cordon. Ten police vans, armed officers, and roads policing units were rushed in last minute for a high-stakes security blitz.
Yellow Minis Stunt Fails to Stop Brexit
In a cheeky twist, three yellow Minis arrived at the studio’s rear, one passenger dressed as Boris Johnson himself. Echoing a scene from The Italian Job, they tried to block the entrance to halt Brexit discussions. But police quickly moved them on with zero tolerance for protesters.
Drone Overhead as Tensions Soar
A police drone was deployed to oversee the tense situation. Officers were scrambled after social media tipped of attempts to prevent Boris from entering the studio. Nearby residents were also barred from accessing roads around the area, and drivers were turned away or forced to park elsewhere.
Local Motorist Shocked by Police Presence
One passing driver told us, “I didn’t realise Kent Police had that many officers!” Many onlookers questioned the need for such a heavy-handed operation, branding it a waste of public funds.
Meanwhile, Jeremy Corbyn stopped to chat with supporters outside, after spending the afternoon at the Maidstone Hilton.
