Second Arrest Made in Murder of 16-Year-Old in Croydon
Detectives probing the tragic stabbing of a 16-year-old boy in Croydon have arrested a second suspect. An 18-year-old man was held today at an address in Brierley Hill, West Midlands, on suspicion of murder and is now in custody.
Youth Remains in Custody After First Arrest
A 15-year-old boy, arrested last Friday at an East Sussex address, remains in custody. He has been transferred to a south London police station as the investigation intensifies.
Fatal Stabbing on Bracken Avenue
Police were called at 12:46am on Thursday, 1 July to reports of a disturbance on Bracken Avenue, Shrublands, Croydon. Officers found the teenage victim inside with fatal stab wounds. Despite immediate first aid and efforts by London Ambulance and Air Ambulance services, the boy was pronounced dead at 1:34am.
Next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. A post-mortem examination is pending and police say they are keeping an open mind on the motive.

“Our investigation is gathering pace but though we have made our second arrest, we still want to hear from anyone who has information relating to this horrific loss of a young life,” said Detective Chief Inspector Dave Blair of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command.
