Second Arrest Made After Fatal Bexley Stabbing
Detectives have snapped up a second suspect following a deadly stabbing in Bexley.
Street Fight Ends in Tragedy
Police were called to Barnehurst Avenue at 2.48pm on Sunday, 13 October, after reports of a brawl between males in the street. Officers and the London Ambulance Service arrived to find a 20-year-old man with a stab wound to his chest.
He was rushed to an east London hospital but sadly passed away at 5.27pm. His family has been informed, though formal ID and a post-mortem are pending.
Two Teens in Custody
A 16-year-old boy was arrested on the scene on suspicion of attempted murder. He remains in police custody. The very next day, another 16-year-old turned himself in at a south London police station and was arrested on suspicion of murder.
Police Appeal for Dashcam Footage
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Cranwell from the Met’s Specialist Crime (Homicide) unit urged witnesses to come forward. “A young man has been stabbed to death on a Sunday afternoon in the street, and now his family are left mourning and looking for answers,” he said.
“I am asking anyone with information, or who witnessed this fatal stabbing, to call police. In particular, I want to hear from you if you were passing around the time of the stabbing and may have recorded your car journey on a dashcam.”
