Serious Crash on A380: Police Seek Witnesses
Police are hunting for witnesses after a nasty smash on the A380 southbound slip road at Ideford Coombe, near Kingsteignton, at around 9.10am on Tuesday, 16 April.
Three Vehicles Involved in Morning Collision
The pile-up involved a white Scania tipper lorry, a white Toyota Dyna, and a red Fiat 500.
23-Year-Old Passenger Gravely Injured
The passenger in the Toyota, a 23-year-old man, suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to hospital. The driver, a 35-year-old man, was also taken to hospital with minor injuries. Thankfully, the drivers of the lorry and Fiat escaped unharmed.
Police Seek Drivers of Two Other Vehicles
Officers want to identify the drivers of a silver 4×4 and a small red hatchback believed to have been at the scene, possibly to assist with enquiries.
The road was shut for hours while the crash was investigated. The Roads Policing Team thanked motorists for their patience. Highways reopened the route around 5.40pm.
