Shooting Rocks Central Tel Aviv: One Seriously Injured
A shocking shooting on a busy Tel Aviv street left one man in serious condition on Saturday. The suspected gunman, reportedly from the Palestinian town of Jenin in the occupied West Bank, was fatally shot by a municipal patrol officer, Tel Aviv mayor Ron Huldai confirmed.
Suspect “Neutralised” Amid Tight-Lipped Police
Details remain scarce. The Israeli Police Inspector General confirmed the attacker’s Palestinian origin but withheld further info. A police spokesman said the suspect was “neutralised” but gave no other specifics.
Tensions Surge Amid Escalating Violence in the Region
This attack comes just one day after a Palestinian teen was killed in a violent incident involving Israeli civilians in the West Bank. Violence has been on the rise, with Israeli raids increasing after a spike in Palestinian street attacks on Israelis over the past year.
Washington has voiced concern about rising attacks by Jewish settlers on Palestinian villages, heightening regional tensions.
Heroic Patrol Worker in Critical Condition
Tel Aviv’s mayor revealed the injured man is a municipal patrol worker. He approached the suspect after noticing suspicious behaviour, triggering the shooting.
“We are standing at a very sad incident,” Mayor Huldai said. “We are praying for the well-being of the injured.”
