Heroic strangers save mum from deadly sea rescue in Cowes
A frantic rescue at Cowes saw a mum pulled lifeless from the sea by three brave men – and now her son is desperate to find them and say thank you.
Three lifesavers spot mum drifting motionless
Ryan Cuthbert, from Cowes, revealed his mum suffered a heart attack while swimming on Monday. Two men hauled her from the busy waters, where she lay motionless, and an off-duty nurse immediately began CPR.
“My mum was pulled out of the sea at Cowes by two males, and she had CPR delivered by an off-duty nurse after she suffered a heart attack,” Ryan told UK News in Pictures.
Son’s emotional plea to find courageous rescuers
“These three angels gave her the only chance she had,” Ryan said. “I would be so grateful if anyone knows who they are and can let me know. Our family needs to thank them properly for their incredible bravery before the emergency services arrived.”
Full credit to emergency heroes and hospital staff
Ryan also praised the swift response from police, paramedics, Coastguard, and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight air ambulance, as well as hospital staff providing “high level” care.
“Heartfelt thanks will never be enough to express our gratitude for all involved,” he said. “It’s early days but our hopes remain high.”
