Stratford Bus Station Shut After Fatal Fall from Westfield Car Park

Stratford Bus Station remains firmly closed after a tragic death on Friday night. A person fell from the top of the nearby Westfield Shopping Car Park at around 8:45pm on April 25. Despite paramedics’ best efforts, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Treat Incident as Non-Suspicious

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed the death is being treated as non-suspicious. Investigations are ongoing to identify and notify the next of kin. Police, along with emergency services, continue their inquiries at the scene.

Bus Disruptions and Diversions in Effect

Due to the ongoing police investigation, Stratford Bus Station has remained closed since just before 1am on April 26. This closure has caused major disruption to overnight bus services across the area.

Transport for London (TfL) has issued diversion routes affecting key buses including 97, 108, 241, 308, 339, 388, and N205. Passengers are urged to check live travel updates before starting their journeys and to allow extra time.
