Sussex Police are hot on the trail of a string of serious crimes tied to Brighton and Hove City Council’s Hollingdean depot, stretching from 2023 right through to 2025.
Crime Spree Under Investigation
The probe covers a shocking range of offences including criminal damage, possession of offensive weapons, harassment, arson, and other grave criminal acts. The operation, dubbed Operation Senate, is fully underway.
Some Cases Closed, But Many Ongoing
While a handful of cases have been shut due to dead ends, Sussex Police confirm that many investigations are still active or in early stages. Chief Superintendent Rachel Carr, who leads policing in Brighton and Hove, said:
“The matters reported to us are of a very serious and concerning nature. We’ve put the right resources in place for thorough investigations and urge anyone with information to step forward.”
Police Apologise For Earlier Mix-Up
Sussex Police recently issued a formal apology after mistakenly hinting that all investigations were complete. Chief Superintendent Carr added:
“We apologise for this and any distress caused.”
Details remain under wraps due to operational sensitivities, but police assure the public that the cases are under constant review.
