Teen, 16, Busted After Machete Attack at Merry Hill
A 16-year-old lad was arrested last night following a terrifying machete attack at Dudley’s busy Merry Hill shopping centre.
Violent Scuffle Ends in Machete Slash
West Midlands Police swooped on the teen around 5pm Friday after a 17-year-old victim was slashed in the back during a brutal clash between rival teenage gangs. The chaos kicked off just after 3.30pm when one group reportedly chased another through the crowded shopping centre.
“We arrested a boy aged 16 on suspicion of wounding with intent,” said a police spokesperson. “The victim suffered a small cut to his back that required medical treatment.”
Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Up
Officers are calling on anyone with mobile footage or info to come forward. Extra patrols will be out this weekend to reassure shoppers and curb any further trouble.
