Midnight Car Chase Ends in Crash with Six Teens Inside
Sussex Police sprang into action after a stolen car was spotted racing north on the A29 in Fontwell shortly after midnight on Sunday. The drama unfolded in the early hours, setting off a high-speed pursuit.
Car Smashes Near Ford Road Roundabout
The stolen vehicle swerved east onto the A27 before smashing into a parked car by the Ford Road roundabout. Inside were six boys aged 13 to 15, who were rushed to hospital for urgent checks and treatment.
Five Teens Discharged, One in Serious Condition
A police spokesperson confirmed, “Five have since been discharged, while one remains in hospital in a stable condition, being treated for serious injuries.”
Independent Investigation Underway
As per protocol, Sussex Police referred the case to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC). The force added, “Enquiries are ongoing, and no further information is available at this time.”
