Kidnap Horror Shakes Hove in Early Hours
Police are hunting a suspect after a chilling kidnapping attempt in Hove just after 2am on Monday, 5 August. A woman was grabbed by a man in a dark Mini but managed to break free before being driven away.
Driver Lures Woman Before Snatching Her
The incident happened at the corner of Selborne Road and Church Road. The man, driving a dark-coloured Mini, stopped the woman under the guise of asking for directions. Suddenly, he jumped out, snatched her, and dragged her into the car. Thankfully, the woman escaped after a short ride as the vehicle sped off.
Suspect on the Run, Police Seek CCTV Footage
The suspect is described as wearing a black tracksuit, baseball cap, and balaclava. Police have ramped up patrols and are appealing to residents and businesses to check CCTV or doorbell recordings for any clues.
“This is a fast-moving investigation,” said Superintendent Petra Lazar. “We’re working hard to trace the vehicle and suspect. Anyone with information or footage is urged to come forward.”
Victim Hospitalised and Supported by Officers
The woman was taken to hospital and is receiving care and support from specially trained officers. The community has been warned to stay vigilant as police boost their presence in the area.
