Violent rampage in Dover ends with jail for Bradley Thomson
Bradley Thomson, 25, from Folkestone Road, Dover, has been locked up for launching a brutal series of attacks in June 2023 that left multiple victims battered and scared.
Shocking assaults terrorise Dover community
On 10 June, Thomson attacked a man who stopped his car after spotting a disturbance on London Road. The victim suffered multiple facial fractures and serious skull injuries. Thomson also menaced the passenger, turning a routine stop into a nightmare.
Four days later, on 14 June, locals in Tower Hamlets, Dover, were rattled as Thomson smashed property and threatened residents with a two-pronged fork.
When challenged, he viciously stabbed a man trying to intervene, leaving him with deep cuts and puncture wounds.
Chaos escalates before police swoop
As more people tried to help, Thomson’s violence spiralled. He kicked a woman to the ground and beat a man with a belt in front of horrified onlookers.
Police caught up with Thomson later that day. Officers searched him and found a kitchen knife and drugs in his possession.
Justice served with hefty jail term
On 16 June, Thomson faced multiple charges: causing grievous bodily harm with intent, public order offences, affray, assault by beating, possession of a bladed article, and possession of cannabis.
He admitted guilt, including an additional charge of actual bodily harm.
On 2 November, Canterbury Crown Court sentenced Thomson to four-and-a-half years behind bars, followed by three years on licence.
Detective Constable Sophia Lateu of East Kent CID said: “Thomson spread fear through the community with his violent actions and attacked those who stepped in to help. This significant sentence sends a clear message that such behaviour won’t be tolerated. I commend the bravery of witnesses and urge the public to report incidents to help keep our streets safe.”
