The Yamaha rider, Craig Smart, 38, from Mantle Close, and Honda rider Simon Ashworth, 49, from Warsash, died from their injuries. Craig’s family paid a heartfelt tribute:
“Craig was a strong, devoted and selfless family man who always put the needs of others above his own. He was a loving husband, a supportive dad to his six kids, and a wonderful son and brother. He was also a brilliant mate to many whose lives he touched.
“He lived life to the fullest—riding his motorbike, boating on the Solent with his boat Pugwash, fishing, kayaking, and, above all, spending time with family and friends. He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.”
