Tragedy on Mossborough Road: Benjamin Lightburn Dies in Horror Crash
Benjamin Lightburn lost his life in a two-car collision on Mossborough Road, Rainford. The other car’s driver and passenger suffered serious injuries and remain in recovery.
Family’s Heartbreaking Tribute to Devoted Ben
“No words can describe how devastated we are at the sudden loss of our wonderful Ben,” the family said.
“He was a devoted and loving husband, father and son and he will be missed more than anyone can imagine.
“We want to thank everyone for their support and kind words, especially family, friends and Ben’s NWAS colleagues who have been so amazing. He was just perfect and has left a hole in our lives that will never be filled.”
Police Appeal for Dash Cam Footage to Crack the Case
Detective Sergeant Andy Roper of Merseyside Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit offered condolences and updates:
“Our thoughts are with Mr Lightburn’s family as we support them through specially trained Family Liaison Officers while we continue investigating.
The male driver and female passenger in the other vehicle suffered serious injuries but are now recovering well. The driver is cooperating as a witness and has supported the investigation fully.
“We appeal to anyone with dash cams or CCTV on Mossborough Road or Blindfoot Road between 9:50am and 10am on New Year’s Day to contact us. Your footage may be crucial to understanding what happened.”
