Tragic Death of Young Woman in Surrey Dog Attack
A 28-year-old woman has died after a brutal dog attack in Caterham, Surrey. The victim, believed to be a professional dog walker, was mauled to death on Thursday, January 12. Her identity has not yet been made public.

“This is an extremely difficult time for us, and on top of dealing with this sudden loss in our family, the significant level of media interest and the graphic nature of some of the reporting has been a source of additional distress,” the victim’s family said in a statement. “We continue to request that our privacy be respected during this difficult time.”

Detective Inspector Josephine Horner, leading the investigation, said: “Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding this young woman’s sad death continue, and we will provide further updates when possible. We are aware that this incident has caused significant concern in the local community. Neighbourhood officers have been speaking with residents in recent days. We continue to ask that people refrain from speculating about the circumstances while investigations are ongoing.”
