Murder Probe Underway After Woman Found Dead on Brady Street
Detectives are hunting a man wanted in connection with the stabbing murder of a woman found dead inside a Brady Street home on Saturday afternoon.
Woman Found with Fatal Neck Injuries
Emergency services rushed to the scene at 12.30pm after concerns were raised for a woman’s welfare. Inside the property, officers discovered Michelle Hanson deceased. Her neck injuries suggest she was attacked with a bladed weapon.
Police Appeal for Public Help to Find Suspect
Northumbria Police said: “We are treating Michelle’s death as murder and a full investigation has been ongoing since. This is absolutely devastating for Michelle’s family and our thoughts remain with them at this awful time.”
They added: “We will offer them any support they need and ask that their privacy is respected. We are determined to find those responsible and bring them to justice.”
Detectives have named 32-year-old Alexander Carr as a key suspect. He is believed to have connections in Tyne & Wear and Northumberland and is thought to be actively evading arrest.
