Woman Escapes Bag Snatch Attempt in Portsmouth
Police are hunting a thief who tried to snatch a woman’s handbag on St Mary’s Road, Portsmouth.
The incident took place late on Saturday night, between 10.10pm and 10.25pm.
Struggle Ends With Suspect Fleeing Empty-Handed
The victim, a 28-year-old Portsmouth woman, was walking alone when a man on a silver bike zoomed past and lunged for her bag.
A brief tussle followed, but the crook fled towards Clarkes Road without the loot. The woman suffered minor injuries.
Suspect Description Released — Police Need Your Help
- Asian male, aged 20-35
- About 6ft tall, slim build
- Dark brown hair
- Wearing dark puffa jacket with hood, dark trousers, dark baseball cap
- Riding a silver bicycle
Officers have launched enquires but now need eyewitnesses to step forward.
