Tragedy in Cardiff as three bodies found after night out chaos

Three Dead in Crash After Night Out

Police in Wales confirmed this morning that three bodies were found during the search for five missing friends after a wild night in Cardiff. Sophie Russon (20), Eve Smith (21), Darcy Ross (21), Rafel Jeanne, and Shane Loughlin vanished after a night out and were last seen early Saturday morning (March 4) in Llanederyn, Cardiff.

Gwent Police revealed the missing group’s car crashed off the A48. Three of the five occupants died in the smash. The trio of friends are believed to have been at Newport’s Muffler nightclub before disappearing.

Family Furious Over Police Response

Sophie Russon’s mother, Anna Certowicz, slammed cops for downplaying the missing persons report. She told the Daily Mail, “They didn’t appear to mind. Because they were doing nothing, I had to drive to Cardiff and knock on doors myself. They simply did not appear to believe it was worthwhile to investigate. It was extremely aggravating.”

Anna added that officers probably assumed Sophie was just hungover. “She’s a sensible girl who works in a bank and hasn’t taken a day off in three years… She wouldn’t just disappear unless something was wrong,” she said.

Anna also claimed police told her to “stop ringing them” when she repeatedly reported her daughter missing. The three women have been friends since childhood.

Desperate Search Ends in Heartbreak

Friends last saw the three women at Muffler nightclub before they left in a Volkswagen Tiguan with Shane and Rafel. After a tense weekend search, police found the crashed vehicle just after midnight in the St Mellons area of Cardiff.

Officers believe the car veered off the A48. The identities of the victims have yet to be officially confirmed.

Police Vow Support for Families

A Gwent Police spokesperson said: “We understand how upsetting it is when a loved one goes missing; we have seen media reports about this, and we will be working closely with the families involved to gather more information and address any concerns.”
