Inferno Engulfs East London Block of Flats – Over 70 Firefighters Battle Blaze
More than 70 firefighters are battling a massive fire at a block of flats in Bethnal Green, East London. The blaze erupted on the third floor of Dickinson House on Turin Street and quickly spread, licking out of windows and roaring up to the roof.
Flames Rip Through Third Floor and Roof
Ten fire engines and 72 firefighters rushed to the scene on Saturday afternoon. Thick black smoke poured into the sky as bright flames engulfed the entire third floor and destroyed the roof completely. Video footage captured a fiery ball bursting from a third-floor window, with smoke billowing out all around.
One Man Hospitalised After Smoke Inhalation
Paramedics treated and rushed one man to hospital after he suffered from smoke inhalation. The injured resident’s condition is not yet confirmed.
Bystanders Express Shock and Concern
Onlookers watched in horror as the fire spread rapidly, with one tweeting, “The fire has spread to the rooftop of the flat in Bethnal Green Turin Street! Hope everyone is ok.”
Firefighters Scramble to Contain Blaze
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said, “The Brigade was called at 4.25pm. Firefighters from Bethnal Green and surrounding stations are attending the scene.” The full extent of the damage includes the entire third floor and the roof, which has been completely destroyed by the fire.
