Thieves Smash Door on Isle of Wight Home But Flee Empty-Handed

Burglars tried to break into a house in Freshwater but made off with nothing after smashing the front door.

Door Smashed but No Entry

The attempted break-in happened sometime between 6.45pm on Saturday, December 10, and 11.30am on Sunday, December 11. The targeted property in The Nurseries, Freshwater, suffered damage to its front door—but the intruders failed to get inside.

Police Hunt for Suspects

PC Tom Wyld from Newport Police Station urged locals to come forward with any information. He said: “Have you seen anyone in the area approaching houses or trying front doors? If so, please call me on 101 quoting 44160466475.”
