Strawberry thieves nabbed in west Kent fruit heist! Three men have been arrested over a string of smash-and-grab raids on strawberry farms across west Kent. Since early May 2018, crops worth thousands of pounds have vanished from farms in East Peckham and Wateringbury.

Police Crackdown on Fruit Fraudsters

Kent Police’s Rural Task Force launched a probe after reports the stolen strawberries were flogged to unsuspecting buyers at boot fairs and local markets. On 13 June, officers stopped a car on land off Lavenders Road, West Malling, believed to be tied to the thefts.

Three Men Arrested, Fruit Trays Seized

The trio, aged 40, 54, and 70, were arrested on suspicion of theft. A search of a linked property unearthed 38 fruit collection trays suspected of being stolen.
