An elderly woman in her 80s has tragically died following a single-vehicle crash in Gosport this morning, Hampshire police confirmed.

Emergency services rushed to Grange Road just before 11.30am on Monday, 5 May, after reports of a Kia Picanto collision. Despite desperate attempts by medics, the woman driving was pronounced dead at the scene.

“We were called at 11.28am about a single-vehicle collision on Grange Road involving a Kia Picanto. The driver, a woman in her 80s, was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene,” said a Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary spokesperson.
The road remains closed as officers carry out a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
