Tragic Death of Wendy Taylor After River Rescue Attempt
Heartbreak hit Glen Esk on Thursday, 19 October, when Wendy Taylor, 57, was swept away by the fast-flowing Water of Lee. The drama unfolded just after 1.45pm, sparking an urgent response from officers who rushed to the scene.
Body Recovered – No Suspicious Circumstances
After a tense search, Wendy’s body was recovered around 4.00pm BST. Police Scotland confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death. A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal for further investigation.
Family Mourns Beloved Wendy
“Wendy was a beautiful, kind, funny, and caring person – a ray of sunshine for everyone who knew her,” said her grieving family. “We are struggling to come to terms with this terrible loss.”
The family also thanked Police Scotland for their “professionalism and sensitivity” during this difficult time, singling out Paul Morgan from Police Mountain Rescue for his dedicated efforts in recovering Wendy’s body.
