Tragic End for ‘Fantastic Mum’ Killed by Tesco Lorry in Hackney
Devastating Crash on Mare Street
The first photo has emerged of beloved mum Lili, who died after being hit by a Tesco lorry outside the café where she worked in Hackney. The heartbreak happened around 11am on Monday, March 3. Emergency crews rushed to Mare Street but couldn’t save her.
Friends knew Lili as a wonderful mother living less than half a mile from the scene with her young son. Locals have been leaving flowers, candles and messages outside her café in pay tribute.
Horrific Witness Accounts
A nearby shop worker described the chaos: “I heard someone shout and saw people panicking around a person on the road. The lorry was at a weird angle. One man near the lorry went pale as if the blood drained from him. It was just horrific.”
Remembering Lili – A Loved Londoner
Lili, originally from Moldova, had called London home for over ten years. A close neighbour said, “I’m in total shock. She was a fantastic mother and a lovely person. Her little boy is devastated. We’ve been neighbours for a long time. I just can’t believe she’s gone.”
Police Launch Full Investigation
The Met Police are on the case. They’re reviewing CCTV footage and asking anyone who saw the crash to come forward. A police spokesperson said:
“Officers were called around 8am on Monday following reports of a lorry colliding with a pedestrian on Mare Street. Despite efforts from emergency services, the woman sadly died at the scene.”
