Shock Murder of 22-Year-Old Darren in Burnmouth Road Streets
On the night of Tuesday, 27 August 2002, 22-year-old Darren was caught up in a violent clash in Burnmouth Road. The fight spilled onto the street, turning deadly by the early hours.
At around 1.30am on Wednesday, 28 August, Darren was found seriously injured lying on Calvay Place. Rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary by ambulance, he tragically died shortly after arrival.
Police Hunt for Witnesses as £20,000 Reward Offered
Detectives have already spoken to several witnesses, but believe others are still holding back crucial information. Crimestoppers has now announced a £20,000 reward for tips that lead to the killers being arrested and convicted.
“Darren was only 22 when he was murdered on 28 August 2002,” said Detective Chief Inspector Lynsey Watters. “His family’s heartbreak is unimaginable. We must bring those responsible to justice.”
“Some members of the public helped at the time, but I believe people with valuable information have not yet come forward,” she added.
