Two Arrested After Brutal Assault in Nottingham City Centre
A man was brutally punched and pelted with objects in Nottingham’s Upper Parliament Street on Tuesday evening. The victim was walking with a woman and child when a group of attackers approached him and launched the vicious assault at around 5.50pm.
Violence Escalates in Aspley
Just an hour later, the same gang confronted the man again in Minver Crescent, Aspley, threatening him before fleeing in a car. Police quickly moved in, using automatic number plate recognition cameras to track down the vehicle to Clarendon Street in Nottingham city centre.
Two Men Busted Over Attack
- A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray.
- An 18-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of affray.
“This was a completely unprovoked attack on a man who was in the presence of a young child when this happened,” said Detective Sergeant Al Roper. “We condemn all forms of aggressive behaviour and don’t want violent disorder on our streets. Our investigation is ongoing, and we urge anyone with information to contact police.”
