Two Men Hospitalised After Taking Animal Drugs Linked to Basingstoke Vet Burglary
Two men were rushed to hospital overnight after reportedly taking animal medications. The shocking incident is believed to be connected to a burglary at a veterinary surgery on Worting Road, Basingstoke, which happened between 8.30pm on June 29 and 5.55am on June 30.
Deadly Animal Drug Warning Issued
Police have issued a serious health warning about the dangers of using animal medicines not prescribed for humans. Taking these drugs can cause severe, even life-threatening reactions.
One liquid drug of particular concern is Iso-Flo, containing Isoflurane. Inhalation, oral consumption, or injection of this substance could trigger a dangerous response.
Victims’ Condition and Police Appeal
- The first victim, a man in his 50s from Basingstoke, remains in critical condition in intensive care after being found around 7.20pm on June 30 in Basingstoke Town Centre.
- The second victim, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital around midnight and has since been discharged.
