Premature Baby Found Abandoned at Wolverhampton Morrisons

A premature baby was discovered alone on Sunday morning at Morrisons on the Black Country Route in Bilston, Wolverhampton. The tiny tot was found by a passerby, sparking immediate police action.

Two Arrested Over Baby’s Death

West Midlands Police have arrested a 21-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man in connection with the baby’s death. Both remain in custody. The force has not revealed the exact charges or whether the pair are related to the infant.

Mother Identified and Receiving Care

Following an urgent appeal, officers traced the baby’s mother, who was taken to hospital for “appropriate care.” Detective Inspector Tim Draper said: “This was a devastating discovery which I know has shocked and saddened many people.”

Investigation Underway

A post-mortem is planned to determine the cause of death. Police have urged the public not to speculate on the circumstances as the heartbreaking investigation continues.
