A man was snapped up in a dramatic early-morning swoop on Tuesday, March 2, snapped up by cops on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life, plus ammunition. He’s now locked up at a west London police station.
Specialist Units Crack Down on Firearms
The arrest came as part of a targeted operation by the Met’s Specialist Command and Specialist Firearms teams. Their mission? To snatch deadly guns off London’s streets before they can cause carnage.
Detective Chief Superintendent Issues Stark Warning
“The machine guns and ammunition seized could have undoubtedly led to the loss of life had they not been recovered in this operation,” said Detective Chief Superintendent Craig Turner. “Tackling violent crime remains our absolute priority. Operations like this are vital to remove lethal weapons and stop those bent on causing harm.
“Anyone thinking they can carry horrific weapons around London should think again. We are making London a hostile zone for gangs and firearms, and we will be relentless as we come out of lockdown.”
