The footage shows a woman kneeling on the backseat with her head in her hands, hiding her face. Shockingly, she appears to be without trousers. The disturbing scenes have sparked outrage.
Uber and Authorities Take Action
Uber responded swiftly: “We are horrified by what is depicted in the video and are taking action. We have suspended the driver while we investigate and are working closely with the police.”
Rochdale Borough Council confirmed the case is a “live police investigation.” They are “liaising with Greater Manchester Police to act on any information confirmed and shared with the Council.”
