Sixty Delivery Riders Face Deportation After Illegal Work Crackdown
About 60 delivery riders are set to be deported after being caught working illegally across the UK. The Home Office launched a nationwide sweep last month, resulting in 171 arrests.

The crackdown zeroed in on hotspots like Solihull, Newham, and Norwich. Chinese nationals were detained at a Solihull restaurant, while Bangladeshi and Indian delivery riders were arrested in east London and Norfolk.
Border Security Minister Vows Tougher Enforcement
Alex Norris said: “If you are working illegally in this country, you will be arrested and removed.”
The government is pushing for tougher laws to clamp down on illegal working in the booming delivery sector.
“This action is part of the most sweeping changes to illegal migration in modern times to reduce the incentives that draw illegal migrants here and scale up removals.”

Ministers are working closely with major food delivery firms such as Deliveroo, Just Eat, and Uber Eats. The goal: tighten identity checks and end account-sharing scams that fuel illegal working.
